What to bring!

In regards to how to prepare, feel free to bring any "props" you two might want to incorporate. Anything that is special to you two is always fun! To give you some ideas, maybe a hot drink, mugs and a thermos, beer/whiskey/champagne, that type of thing. Musical instruments, bikes, Maybe a blanket, depending on your location. Really anything that is meaningful to you two and shows off your relationship is great! :) The sky is the limit here! Feel free to get creative!

What to expect!

For the day of, try to think of this as a date or quality time together. My best piece of advice is to focus on each other. Look into your partners eyes, try to make them laugh, hold onto each other and keep each other feeling relaxed and comfortable. As your photographer, will help set up shots and lead you into moments, but I'm relying on you two to stay loose and open minded and focused on each other. Often times those unique shots come from when you two do something that is uniquely you and we play with that. Don’t be hard on yourselves! You two just be you and i’ll make sure to capture it beautifully for you! Sometimes a drink beforehand can help calm your nerves too ;)

What to Wear!

In regards to clothing and what you wear, we should have time for 1 outfit change if you'd like! Depending on location, you may end up changing in the woods or a car :) Something to keep in mind!

My general guidelines for clothes are…

1. Wear something you’re comfortable in but also use this shoot as an excuse to dress up and wear something fun.

2. Choose something that shows off your personality and feels like you!

3. You want to wear something that goes together with your partners outfit, but isn't too matchy-matchy.

4. Dress smart for where/when we'll be shooting, avoid clothes & shoes that don't allow you freedom to move around and be you.

5. Couples tend to wear one casual outfit and one that is a bit more dressy, but truly feel free to do whatever you are comfortable with! If you want to send me pictures or options adead of time, happy to help that away too! <3

6. Feel free to TREAT YO SELF. There will be multiple engagement ring photos as well as close-ups of you holding hands, hugging, etc so you want your nails and hands to look their best! Don’t forget to clean that beautiful ring of yours beforehand too

7. If you tan or get a spray tan done on a normal basis, do these both 5-7 days before. I would avoid doing these the day before or of, in case you burn or the color of the spray tan is wrong..

8. Pinterest is a great spot to find some inspiration for clothing options but feel free to use this shoot as an excuse to do some shopping!

A few things to keep in mind/tips/tricks to consider.

-Don't think of this as a photo shoot- think of it as a date!

-Flirt with each other. Flirt with the camera. Even if it feels silly in the moment, at the very least it will give you something to focus on ;)

-Think movement. Your hand, your gaze, your hair, your smile, your dress...small things like this add variety and keep the session flowing.

-Soft kisses on the forehead, laughing, dancing, holding hands, whispers, etc...all breathe life into your photos. Go for it!

-Talk sweetly and/or make corny jokes. Show off your cute little selves! These moments are helpful and are exactly what you should be doing.

-Get goofy! Show me your best (or worst!) dance moves! Or just be playful with each other! Whatever your style is!

-Don't over think it! Improvisation of some kind happens at every engagement shoot. Get out of your head, look into your partners eyes, be present and lets have fun!

-Some of my favorite images are from couples doing something that is unique to them and then we play with it from there, so don’t feel weird about showing those things off!

-Have a little snack or light meal before your session! We will likely be doing a good amount of walking and movement and you don’t want to get hangry during your session!

-Clean that ring beforehand and if you’re feelin’ it, get those nails done too!
